THIS FIRMWARE RELEASE WORKS WITH THE SUNSIGHT AAT/ AAT Mini/ AAT Max/ MW/ MW Max MODELS ONLY. IN ADDITION TO THE FIRMWARE, THE SUNSIGHT ANDROID APP (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE DOWNLOAD. THIS APP CAN BE USED TO EASILY CONNECT THE ANDROID DEVICE TO THE AAT/MW UNIT. IT ALSO SUPPLIES A RICH FEATURE SET INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO TAKE PICTURES THAT ARE INCLUDED IN REPORTS AS WELL AS CREATING GOOGLE EARTH FILES FOR USE WITH THE VIRTUAL REALITY INTERFERENCE REPORTING FEATURE.

The firmware update procedure and the firmware is the same for both the AAT and MW products. The Sunsight Android app is very highly recommended for AAT and MW use due to the richer feature content.

RELEASE 3.3 UPDATE INFORMATION (Release Date April 17, 2026) – PLEASE READ BEFORE UPDATING

The newest version of the AAT/MW firmware contains both new features and upgrades to usability. It is strongly suggested to review the items below. Note: the AAT/MW tilt and roll calibration must be performed after the firmware update using the tilt and roll calibration feature. This takes about 1 minute to perform and is located under Tools > Tilt and Roll Calibration

* iPhone User Microwave Feature Access – Customers who prefer to use their iPhone for Microwave Alignment can now do so. The Sunsight App for Android is still required for photo reporting.

* Added Option for Azimuth Motion Compensation – User options now include Antenna Alignment (stationary), In Motion, and Highly Dynamic. This option changes the way the AAT averages and smooths the azimuth display, increasing responsiveness for AAT units when set to In Motion or Highly Dynamic.

* Battery Gas Gauge Accuracy – The battery gauge usefulness can be significantly improved by following the battery calibration procedure found under the Help on the AAT/MW unit. This is a one-time procedure for units updated in the field. While the battery life is unaffected by the gas gauge, the visual feedback has been improved

* Expanded Microwave Demo Feature – With its own menu option and enhanced operation, users can now simulate a Microwave End-to-End Alignment for training purposes prior to use in the field without requiring a paired unit. Great addition for first-time users.

* Firmware update over USB-C – Valuable update for our defense customers who have deactivated their Wi-Fi connectivity. Firmware updates can now be performed using the USB-C connection.

* Faster Connectivity – Wi-Fi Connection between the handheld device and the AAT connects more easily and stays connected.

* Improved Battery Gauge – The AAT Battery Indicator will now more accurately reflect remaining battery life. Eliminating false low battery notifications and powering down.
